The JIE Journal is a creative and intellectual platform dedicated to exploring mass incarceration. Sponsored by Columbia University’s Justice-in-Education Initiative, the online journal seeks to publish original works of creative writing and visual art that address justice and inequality and envision a better future. 

We encourage contributions from incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people and their allies in the genres of fiction, non-fiction (essay or memoir), poetry, and visual art.
