The Prison Journalism Project (PJP) is excited to announce a new resource, “A Quick Guide to Starting a Prison Newspaper.”
The Project compiled the handout based off of advice provided by current and former staff of prison newspapers across the country. It includes, among other things, information on prison newspaper style and content, necessary resources and partnerships, and timelines. The aim of the handout is to provide valuable information to individuals and organizations interested in starting a publication, or for publications interested in scaling up their operations.
The handout is free and can be downloaded here.
