Dream Deferred, in partnership with the New York State Department of Labor, Assemblymember Hon. Latrice M. Walker, and The Legal Aid Society, will host a Reentry Resource Fair & Community Empowerment Opportunities Fair on August 13 and 14, 2026, at Bright Light Baptist Church, 1676 Park Place, Brooklyn, NY 11233.

The free, two-day event will connect formerly incarcerated individuals and community members with job readiness, record clearing, and immediate employment opportunities.

Registration is optional but encouraged, and walk-ins are welcome.

Day 1: Workshops & Legal Assistance

• Access critical legal resources and career preparation workshops.

Day 2: Job Fair & Career Expo

• Date: Friday, August 14, 2026
• Time: 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Meet directly with employers, explore job placement opportunities, and learn about internships and apprenticeships.

Free Services & Resources Available:

• Employment Support: Job placement opportunities, career expo, internships, and apprenticeships.
• Legal & Rights Assistance: Record clearing, sealing, & relief, free legal records consultations, and “Know Your Employment Rights” sessions.
• Job Readiness: Resume and interview preparation.
• Community Wellness: Health screenings and voter registration.
