Formerly incarcerated Columbia graduate publishes poetry volume

Simone Tyce Austin (pseudonym) has self-published a new book of poetry, ConvictIvy, recounting their experiences in prison and as an Ivy League graduate.

“I think my book and journey will be an interesting story and will provide encouragement and inspiration to many others in my situation, and it also speaks to the stigma and barriers faced by anyone with a criminal record. Even an Ivy League Graduate,” they said.

After their release from prison, they worked in structural design before enrolling in a technical college and then matriculating at Columbia University. This is their first book.

The volume is available on Amazon.
