Catherine (Kate) Suffern is Program Manager for the Justice-in-Education Initiative. In this role, she cherishes the opportunity to teach the JIE Scholars gateway course and to coordinate Prison Education Program coursework at Taconic Correctional Facility, where she also teaches. Kate earned her Ph.D. in Theatre and Performance, with departmental honors, from Columbia University in 2024. Her scholarship occupies the intersection of theatre studies and carceral studies and has appeared in Modern Drama and Theatre Journal.
