Opportunity: Apply to Tutor Incarcerated Students through the Petey Greene Program
April 2, 2019 Opportunities
Are you interested in criminal justice? Do you believe that every person has a right to a quality education? If so, you should apply to volunteer with The Petey Greene Program!
Petey Greene, a non-profit that supplements education in correctional facilities by preparing volunteers to provide free, high quality tutoring, is recruiting volunteers for the summer 2019 and academic year 2019-2020.
The Petey Greene Program has several programs in NYC, mostly at Rikers Island, supporting incarcerated students learning English, working towards their High School Equivalency, or enrolled in college courses. To volunteer, you must be able to make a weekly 2-3 hour tutoring commitment. Please reserve an hour on either end of the session for travel. Most of our openings are from 9:30AM - 6PM, Monday through Friday.
