Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison

Todd Young was born and raised in Queens for the first 23 years of his life.  He spent the next 25 years in prisons like Sing Sing Correctional Facility.  While in prison he took advantage of higher education and earned his associate’s and bachelor’s degrees from Mercy College through Hudson Link For Higher Education In Prison, Inc.  He then earned a master’s in urban ministry from the New York Theological Seminary.  He is now the Alumni Coordinator for Hudson Link and assists those Hudson Link students still incarcerated and those who have been released.  Todd is the first person to hold this position and is building the Alumni Services aspect of Hudson Link. He has helped to form, and/or maintain partnerships with Career Gear, Bottomless Closet, Mercy College Alumni Services, St. Francis College, Trinity Church Wall Street, Church of the Heavenly Rest, The Hearst Foundation, The Osborne Association and recently The National Cristina Foundation. Todd has presented in places like The Yale Club, Yale University, many higher learning venues, rotary clubs and houses of worship. He is also a licensed minister, a co-organizer of TEDx Sing Sing, a member of the Mercy College Alumni Advisory Council, a member of the American Correctional Association and most importantly proud husband to his wife Lauren.  He brings a unique perspective on prison education, a true hands-on approach.
